Modern Salon – Exploring Paper

Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1 – 3 pm
Paper Connection International
166 Doyle Ave. Providence, RI 02906

For many artists, paper is an integral component of their art as a substrate for images, a structural element, or a medium to transform. In its many forms, paper has both enabled and shaped artistic expression.

As Paper Connection International’s founder, Lauren Pearlman Sugita is committed to the preservation of traditional hand papermaking, and exploring the current and future uses of paper. She will share her decades-worth of knowledge about the wide range of papers that she has encountered, the experiences of others in using those papers, and aspects of the papermaking process itself.

This program is open to ALRI members and their guests. To help us plan for the salon, please send an email, if possible, to artleagueri@gmail.com to let us know you will attend.
